McKim Cringan George is pleased to announce it is expanding its public relations and publicity services to provide additional professional media relations, PR strategy, social media communications and event-planning support to clients and the agency. As part of the expansion, Tamara Bodi has joined MCG recently as communications manager.
Tamara brings a solid background to the agency, having provided media relations, strategy and event-planning services to the University of Manitoba as part of their public affairs department. During her time there, she won national and international awards for news release writing and media strategy, including the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education Prix d’Excellence 2008 for her international media relations work on an academic report authored by business professor and researcher Dr. Hari Bapuji.
The news story made headlines around the world, twice, including in The Huffington Post, China Daily, BBC Radio, The Washington Post, CNN Money, CBC’s The National, The Wall Street Journal and on the front page of The New York Times. Many news outlets eventually made the connection between the release of the report and Mattel’s eventual and highly-publicized apology to China.
Tamara brings more than 10 years experience as a print and broadcast journalist to the agency. She has a creative communications diploma from Red River College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the U of M.
