The University of Manitoba has earned three international accolades for the immensely successful “Trailblazer” advertising campaign. Two gold and one silver 2012 CASE Circle of Excellence Awards were awarded in advertising campaign and individual ad categories – the latter in recognition of an airport ‘spectacular’ billboard. The annual awards program of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education recognizes superior accomplishments in institutional marketing and communications in North America.
“This achievement speaks to the wonderful creativity and collaborative spirit of our dynamic team,” says John Kearsey, Vice President (External) at the University of Manitoba. “Having received so much positive feedback from far and wide, we were convinced that our “Trailblazer” campaign was of an extremely high calibre — but for it to win awards on a national and international level is truly amazing!”
The Trailblazer campaign was recognized in June at the 2012 CCAE Prix d’Excellence Awards with three gold and one bronze that included wins for best institutional branding and best use of social media. In February, the University of Manitoba received eight wins at the 2012 CASE District VIII Communication Awards.
The campaign began in 2011 and grew out of established perceptions of Manitoba, with the concept that where you are shapes who you are. It celebrates the human, intellectual and geographic landscape of a province that continues to produce courageous trailblazers, pioneers, innovators and visionaries. It also speaks to the transformational experience the University of Manitoba education provides.
